My Fair Lady is a Yemeni play written and directed by Amr Gamal. An adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s classic Pygmalion, this production tells a love story that analyzes prejudgment of the society towards individuals from lower background; regardless of their success path and stories. The play premiered in December 9, 2008, at the Hurricane cinema in Aden city. The play is directly adapted from the Egyptian version produced in 1969, which was written by Bahjat Qamar and Samir Khafaji and directed by Hassan Abdel Salam. In the Yemeni version, the music of Russian musician Tchaikovsky was used as background music for the play as well as as songs. Khaleej Aden theater troupe gifted this theater show to Egyptian veteran superstars Fouad Al-Mohandes and Shweikar. The play starring: Ghaidaa Gamal, Adnan Al-Khader, Raed Taha, Qasim Rashad, Hisham Al-Hammadi, Nour Abdullah, Samir Saif and Hoda Hassan. The play was produced by Khaleej Aden theater troupe.
