Reckless Renovation is a Yemeni play written and directed by Amr Gamal. In this theater production, Khaleej Aden theater troupe focuses on a critical struggle Yemeni elite community (politicians, journalists, activists..etc.) were facing upon the Arab Spring. Through dramatic conflict within family members divided upon one another into “anti-regime” rebels and regime supporters “remnants”. The play leads to a situation where the family find themselves stuck inside a restored bathroom, missing important appointments, the incident uncover their ugly side and shows how their relationship as a family is far fragile in comparison to the clash. The production premiered in October 2014 in Aden. The troupe was in preparation to open the production in Sana’a and Taiz but the war erupted. Back in Aden, the stage decorations were entirely destroyed offering no change for the play to continue being performed.This play was first performed on October 3, 2014, on the stage of Hurricane cinema in Aden City. The play is starring: Adnan Alkhader, Sali Hamada, Shoruq, Sameh Aqlan and Qassem Rashad. The play's translated into English by: Noha Sultan. The play was produced by Khaleej Aden theater troupe
